     Families Honoring Our Troops is a nonprofit group of Shasta County relatives and friends of our military personnel who are serving in the armed forces of the United States.  Our promise is to greet troops as they return home from their tours of duty, provide a forum for families and friends to share their experiences and information while their loved one is serving, and assure that our troops know their sacrifice is appreciated through letters, cards, needed supplies, and the establishment of a permanent monument.
   Plans for the Gulf War Era Veterans permanent monument have been approved by the Shasta County Board of Supervisors and its permanent placement will be outside the new Shasta County Library on Grape St. You may request a laser engraved section on the permanent monument honoring your military person who has served in the armed forces during the period beginning August 2, 1990 to the present. This service is free of charge.
